Frequently asked questions.
Do you offer health fund rebates towards your services?
As a registered Remedial Massage Therapist with AMT, I have provider numbers for most health fund agencies which allows you to claim rebates towards remedial treatments. Depending on your provider, health fund rebates can either be submitted on your behalf through our booking system, or you will need to submit your claim directly with your provider.
Do you offer massage to pregnant women?
Absolutely, pregnant Mumma’s are doing a lot of work growing a baby and they deserve a massage too! You’re welcome to book a pregnancy massage, however if you are earlier than 12 weeks and a high risk pregnancy, your suitability for massage will require a discussion with your therapist prior to your appointment.
Do I have to take my clothes off?
Most massage therapy is provided directly onto the body, however it is important to us that we work with your personal level of comfort. If you would like to undress to your underwear, that is great. If you would prefer to keep your bra on and have the therapist unhook it when working on the back then rehook it, that is also great. If you would prefer to keep shorts on and a bra/crop top, that is also fine. Staying fully clothed for your massage is also fine, we will work with you on your personal approach to massage.
What is most important is your comfort, and an open discussion with your therapist. The therapist will always leave the room while you are undressing and leave towels/blanket to keep you fully covered during the massage.
I’m self conscious about ___, what should I do?
We all have parts of our body we are self-conscious about, whether that be our weight, our scars, our blemishes, our body hair or something else; and that is totally normal. We respect your personal choice; if you would like an area avoided, want to remain partly or fully clothed, or have any other concerns, please let us know. We are here to help you as you are, and we truly believe every body is amazing.
Is it okay to ask for more or less pressure?
Absolutely! It is your massage, and we will be sure to check in with you to confirm your preferred pressure. Massages involve a range of techniques, some of which are only effective when applied gently, and remember - it does not have to hurt to work. While we respect your pressure preference, we also ensure your nervous system is respected so a harder/firmer pressure time may not always be safe or best, but do speak up, your voice is always welcome and encouraged.
